Things You Must Do using Treadmills
If you like take challenging walk or run on the treadmill as part of your healthy lifestyles, you can set it to a certain incline-level. But make sure you do not incline it more than 2 percent. Else you run the risk of injuring your calf-muscles. In case you are a beginner, it is advised that you don’t set the treadmill on incline mode.
Let your body first get accustomed to walking on the machine, and then gradually alter the settings and change the incline level. Don’t walk on a steep incline for long periods of time. Slow down and take a rest at regular intervals and then resume again.
Don’t Burn Too Much
Step on the treadmill with the intention of losing weight and enjoying the process. If it’s your first time, don’t push yourself too hard. Go slow and allow your body to come into its own rhythm of the exercise machine. Begin by walking or running for short periods of time.
Do not wear weights on your shoulders and ankles. Burn calories but don’t burn yourself out. Overexertion on treadmills can lead to exhaustion,and you might injure yourself unwittingly. Take breaks at regular intervals and consume water, or any other energy drinks or health supplements of your choice.
Sometimes, it is a good idea to take up membership in a reputed gym close by or use your office gym for a few months. Once you are familiar with all the different kinds of exercise equipments available and once you have tried them out for a sufficiently long period, you will have a better idea as to what works for you and what doesn’t.
It is pointless to splurge a fortune on treadmills if it gathers dust in one corner of your home gym through unuse.
